YNU International Symposium 2023″Sustainability Transformation(SX) ~the Basic Concept and Diversity of Actions~” was held on September 13th-14th, 2023 at Yokohama National University (+online). This symposium was organized by YOKOHAMA International Education Program for Leading Sustainability Transformation towards a Resilient Society with Industry-Government-Academia Network (YOKOHAMA-SXIP headed by Assoc. Prof. Kazuho Nakamura) supported by MEXT-JSPS “Inter-university exchange project”. From India, Prof. Perumal Varalakshmi (Anna Univ.), Prof. Bishakh Bhattacharya (IIT-Kanpur), and Prof. Sanjeev K. Sharma (Panjab Univ.) visited YNU with 16 foreign students to attend this symposium.
The environment surrounding us is rapidly changing due to global environmental issues such as global warming, changes in industrial structure caused by technological advancements, and epidemics of new coronaviruses. In this symposium, YNU collaborated with partner universities in India and Australia to proactively identify issues related to sustainability transformation (SX) and engage in interactive exchanges. By interacting directly with students and faculty from overseas, both in person and online, the symposium provided an opportunity for global interactions across disciplines and to understand each other’s values. We hope that this symposium offered an opportunity for new exchanges among the participants and their research colleagues.
This symposium was held following last year’s symposium “YNU International Symposium 2022 “Sustainability Transformation to a Resilient Society” (Dec. 21-22, 2022). Go to IITK SMSS related page
